ACTIVITIES

Surfing

Sayulita is known as a surf mecca. With a great right and left wave at the main peaks, there is also a beginner part of the beach with a sandy bottom to learn. Depending on the swell, this can be a spot for beginner to high intermediate surfers. Multiple surf schools and board rentals can be found on the beach and throughout town. Several surf schools offer trips to other breaks a little less crowded than the main beach. Take a lesson, or rent a board and get into the water.

Nightlife

Once the sun goes down, another side of Sayulita can be discovered. The town comes alive with music and bustling restaurants. The plaza is a great central spot to check in and see what is going on. Often you can catch a cultural event, live music, break dancing or just local families hanging out. Take a walk down the flag streets to feel the magic of being in the tropics and the vibrancy of Sayulita and all it has to offer.

Whale Watching

The impressive experience of being up close to Humpback Whales is like no other.  The months of November through April is when these majestic creatures find their way to the Bay of Banderas for mating and birthing.  Take a small outboard motorboat (lancha or panga) with an experienced guide,  and you will feel captivated by the incredible size of these animals. Watch as they swim gracefully or perhaps display some of their other behaviors such as breaching. Listen to the eerie sound as they come up for air and take a breath.  You can reach out to us for recommendations for boat tours and captains.

Polo

Just down the road in the neighboring town of San Pancho, there is a world class polo facility. The journey to the ranch takes you through the jungle and opens up with spectacular views of mountains and lush green fields.  Enjoy the experience of watching a polo game while dining in a beautiful setting.  You might even get the chance to throw the "bocha" (the ball) into the field to start the game, or stomp down the field during the breaks between "chukers" (the time period played in polo).
